WHY AFRICA
Africa is a continent of 1.5 billion lives, secondly to Asia. In eight of the past ten years, sub-Saharan Africa has grown faster than Asia. 10 out of the 15 fastest growing economies in the world in 2023 are in Africa. Over the next 5 year, Africa is projected to growth at a rate of 6% compared to 5.8% for Asia, 1.22% for Europe, 1.5% for South America. The world economy overall is projected to grow between 3.1% to 3.7%, making Africa a very attractive place to invest.
Africa produces 90% of the world’s cobalt and platinum, 50% of its gold, 98% of its chromium, 70% of its tantalite, 64% of its manganese and one-third of its uranium. The Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) alone has 15% of global rare earth reserves, 70% of global cobalt production and 80% of the world coltan producer, which is used in almost cell phones, laptops, pagers and many other electronics, and more than 30% of the world’s diamond reserves.
